‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ confirmed for cinema release

Maddock Films has officially announced the new release date for ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’, following a legal dispute with PVR Inox. The film’s theatrical release had initially been cancelled in favour of a direct-to-OTT launch due to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.

Starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, the film is now set to hit cinemas on 23rd May 2025.

In an official statement, the makers said, “With the swift and courageous intervention of the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi ji, and the Indian Army, peace has been restored. In this renewed atmosphere, the space for storytelling and cinematic expression to thrive has only grown stronger.

‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ will now be released as originally envisioned – as a celebration of cinema on the big screen.

In the spirit of this revitalised environment, and following open, constructive discussions among all stakeholders, PVRINOX Limited (PVRINOX), Maddock Films Pvt. Ltd. (Maddock), and Amazon MGM Studios are pleased to announce that Maddock Films’ much-anticipated ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ will be released in theatres on 23rd May 2025.”
