Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan sustained injuries during an incident at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai.
According to a media briefing from Lilavati Hospital, where the actor was rushed after the incident, Khan was stabbed in the spine with a knife, causing a spinal fluid leak that required surgical repair. Additionally, he suffered deep wounds on his hands and neck, which were treated through plastic surgery. The incident occurred around 2:30 am (IST) on Thursday.
Doctors provided an update on Khan’s condition, stating, “Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery, and his progress is being closely monitored. All family members are safe, and the police are investigating the incident. We thank Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr. Leena Jain, and the entire team at Lilavati Hospital for their efforts. We also extend our gratitude to his fans and well-wishers for their prayers during this difficult time.”
Earlier in the day, Kareena Kapoor Khan issued a statement addressing the incident: “There was an attempted burglary at our residence last night. Saif sustained an injury on his arm and is in the hospital undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is safe and doing fine. We request the media and fans to remain patient and avoid speculation as the police are already investigating. Thank you all for your concern.”
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, confirmed, “Saif Ali Khan was stabbed by an unidentified person at his Bandra home and was brought to the hospital around 3:30 am.”
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to identify the perpetrator.
