Rajan Shahi’s claims of removing actors from his shows stir controversy

Rajan Shahi has found himself at the centre of a controversy following his recent interview addressing the removal of certain actors from his shows.

In the past few months, Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe were removed from ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. More recently, Alisha Parveen was replaced in ‘Anupamaa’ amid claims that her acting did not meet the makers’ standards.

Reacting to Shahi’s statements, Shehzada Dhami posted a note on social media saying, “Are koi isko doctor ke pass le ke jao yaar (Someone please take him to a doctor).”

Arjit Taneja, currently starring as the lead in ‘Kaise Muhe Tum Mil Gaye’, also joined the debate, commenting, “That’s one side of the story. And how come all the actors are wrong and he is a saint? Because actors are an easy target and this guy is GOD!!”

While Shahi refrained from naming individuals directly, he alleged in the interview that some actors had displayed disrespectful behaviour towards crew members, including makeup artists, spot dadas, and associate directors, which he deemed unacceptable.
