‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ takes seven-year leap with new characters

Star Plus drama ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ has taken a seven-year narrative leap, introducing significant changes to its storyline and cast.

The latest promo reveals major developments, including a career shift for Armaan (Rohit Purohit), who transitions from a lawyer to a radio jockey. The character is now living separately from Abhira (Samridhii Shukla), signaling a turning point in their relationship.

The leap also introduces their daughter, Pookie, now grown up, suggesting a new generational focus. Alongside her arrival, three new characters—played by Urva Rumani, Sushee Parashar, and Ruheen Ali Khan—have been added to the cast, though details about their roles remain undisclosed. The move is seen as an effort to refresh the long-running series with new plotlines and dynamics while continuing to explore themes of family and identity.
